The venue offer a nice and cosy entrance/foyer with a small seating area, a desk and a nice coffee/tea table. Next to the foyer you will find a small studio that's great for private sessions, small group classes or office space. It can also be used for storage on a workshop day when using the whole complex. There's a small hall that leads to two medium sized studio's with a dancefloor, mirrors (curtains for blinding if desired) and chairs (optional). These two studio's can be connected by removing a mobile wall. That way you'll have one big studio with even more possibilities for bigger groups or audiences. 

 

The two dance studio's are perfect for creative classes, workshops and group sessions. We already host renters that provide classes like Yoga, Mindfulness, Pilates, Zumba and Streetdance. But also Universal Voice Institute is organizing their workshops and classes in the studio complex.

 

You can use the mirror walls, but can also close them off by closing the curtains. Note: There is no locker room or shower space. There is a larger toilet area which can be used for changing clothes if desired. Most guests use the hall space to change for classes though or come dressed.

 

The mobile wall makes the space also very suitable for smaller business events, workshop days or small summits as it can change 2 seperate spaces into one bigger one.

The Roundabout

Next level dining. The grandeur of our conference location is nowhere as tangible as in the Marble Hall. The hall – the entrance of the building – lies central to all other rooms.

 

A short walk up the staircase, and you’ve reached the balcony on the first floor. On this Roundabout, you can dine or drink with a beautiful view on the Marble Hall. Here, twelve special types of marble from Tuscany, Italy have been processed. Both the floor, the pillars and the stairs are covered with them. The green marble, vert polververa, is scarce and is only mined and applied for restoration purposes.

Unique location directly at Oosterpark. De Tropen café & restaurant was designed by studio Piet Boon. The space has a mixture of monumental details combined with a modern tasteful interior.

 

De Tropen is partially or exclusively available for dinners, receptions and parties. It is a contemporary space with endless possibilities – inside and out. The spacious private terrace adjoins the picturesque Oosterpark and is wonderful for those long summer evenings or winter barbecues.

 

Adjacent to De Tropen you will find De Subtropen: a modern meeting space for all your gatherings, meetings and presentations.

Gatherings in symbolic company. In the Boardroom you have symbolic company. The fireplace is decorated with the fundamental principles of KIT: Ganesha for ethnology, Hermes for trading and the angels for hygiene.

 

Under their watchful eye, you can enjoy a drink or tasteful dinner and have an inspired meeting. The Boardroom can be connected with the Governors’ Room and the Council Room. These three rooms form our very own Amsterdam Downing Street.
